Prepaid Providers Selling Guaranteed Mobile Phone Contracts

By Sheryll Grant

Mobile phones can be very costly especially for people who are using prepaid phones instead of a contract one. There may be a reason that they are unable to get a contract phone so think that they have no choice. Guaranteed mobile phone contracts are available though.

If you have been told that you cannot get a contract in the past from a store that is selling the cell phones and contracts, you know how frustrating this can be. You also know that they will tell you that a certain amount needs to be put down before they can offer you that contract. Many times this is per line, not the account. Most of the time it will be an amount that people are not willing to give them to hang onto.

This money will be held with stipulations to make sure that you are paying that bill. Most of the time it will be held for a year or more and any late payment that is made will cause you to lose all of that money. The majority of people are not going to use this to get a mobile phone for themselves.

After you have proven that the bill is going to be paid after a certain amount of time, the money will either be applied to your bill or a check will be sent to you. Many times this can be a year or more before you will see that money. Sometimes there are stipulations in the contract that if one bill is late, you will lose that money.

Sometimes a person can have a friend add them to their plan. One problem with doing this is that you will not be gaining any type of credit benefit with this method. If you decide you want to get your own phone, your friend will be stuck with the bill from yours especially if they went out and got it just for you. Most contracts last for at least two years because many of them are giving out free phones or extremely low priced ones.

A lot of stores are selling the prepaid minute cards and phones. They are very popular. Many of these companies are also offering monthly service plans but you will have to buy the products that go with them. They may not include a lot of fancy features but they do have the basic ones. These plans could be cheaper than paying for one with a big name company.

You may only have a certain amount of minutes or text messages each month. It is important to choose your package wisely and know approximately how much you will be using your phone. A lot of times when you go over on the minutes or texts, they will be outrageously priced for the ones that are over.

Sometimes it is easier to choose a bigger package at first. Make sure that you can change this later on if you need to. This allows you to adjust your package to your needs. Some of these will report this as a contract phone for your credit even though you can get out of it at anytime. These will have the most important features that any cell user needs, such as caller id, text messaging and voice mail.
